Mayor condemns graffiti in Ahoghill targeting local councillor
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Cllr Peter Johnston has condemned graffiti that appeared over the weekend in Ahoghill village targeting local Sinn Féin councillor, Ian Friary.
In a statement Mayor Cllr Peter Johnston said:
“I totally condemn the vile and threatening graffiti aimed at Councillor Ian Friary. There is no place for this in our society and our Council has and will continue to take such incidents extremely seriously.
"The targeting of Cllr Friary is the latest such sinister incident in our Borough in recent weeks and we will continue to work closely with our partners, including the PSNI.
"We call on those responsible to stop immediately and we offer Cllr Friary our full support, as we do our staff who have been threatened in recent weeks.”
