May Fair & Car Boot Sale planned to raise funds for Scouts heading to South Korea

The 5th Ballymena Scout Group based in St Columba’s Church are holding a special fundraising May Fair and Car Boot Sale this weekend in the town. The community event is being organised to raise funds for seven local scouts who are set to jet-off to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea next summer.

St Columbia’s scout group leaders are delighted for the seven young people to experience such a fantastic opportunity.

Three if the scouts have been selected to attend the global event as participants following a Northern Ireland-wide selection process. Daniel Holden, Rory MacDonald, Emma and Jack Weir will join 32 others from the province to make up “Unit 2. The Wee Buns.”

Aaron Coates, Ellie Hughes and Ben Millar were chosen to attend as part of the UK International Service Team.

Spokesperson for 5th Ballymena Scout Group, Helen Weir, told Love Ballymena:

“This will be the opportunity of a lifetime for them, and they are looking forward to the experience immensely!
