Man jailed for three months for sexual assault

A 19-year-old man from Belfast has been sentenced today, Friday 29th August, at Laganside Magistrates Court for sexual assault.

Shoab Timiro was sentenced to three months in prison.

Detective Sergeant Cupples said:

“Our thoughts today are with the victim, and we hope that the bravery shown in coming forward will encourage others who have experienced any form of sexual abuse to come forward to Police.

“We remain committed to investigating all reports of sexual offences.

“If you have ever experienced or witnessed any form of sexual abuse we urge you to contact police on 101, or in an emergency call 999. We have specially trained detectives who can help you.”
