Man in hospital and arrest made after Ballymena incident

Police closed the Broughshane Road in Ballymena for a number of hours on Friday evening.
Police are investigating an incident in the Glenarm Court area of Ballymena that left a man in his 50s in hospital on Friday evening.
Officers received a report of the incident at around 6.40pm on Friday, 8 August. The man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which police say are “not believed to be life-threatening”.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences.
Police have not disclosed the nature of the alleged offences or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a statement, a PSNI spokesperson said:
“Police received a report of an incident in the Glenarm Court area of Ballymena at 6.40pm this evening, Friday, 8th August. One man aged in his 50s has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
“A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences. There is no ongoing risk to the public, however officers remain at the scene at this time.”
Police are expected to remain at the location while enquiries continue.
