Man in his 20s sadly dies following early morning collision near Banbridge

A man in his 20s has sadly died following a single-vehicle road traffic collision near Banbridge in the early hours of Friday morning (9 October).
The collision, involving a Polaris Ranger, happened on the Old Mill Road and was reported to police at approximately 5.50am.
Emergency services attended the scene, but the driver was pronounced dead.
Police appeal for witnesses
Detective Inspector Stewart, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit, said:
“At approximately 5.50am, we received a report of a single vehicle collision on the Old Mill Road involving a Polaris Ranger.
“Officers attended, alongside colleagues from other emergency services, but sadly the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The Old Mill Road, which was closed for a time, has now fully reopened.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or to anyone with dash-cam or other footage that could assist with the investigation, to contact detectives using the witness appeal form at www.reporting.psni.police.uk/appeals quoting reference 175 of 09/10/26 or call 101.

Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the fatal collision and are urging anyone with information or relevant footage from the area to come forward.
