Police have thanked members of the public after they received calls alerting them to suspicious activity in the Templepatrick area of County Antrim on Saturday afternoon (26 February).
Information provided by the community led officers to the location of the male at a nearby bus stop, after he fled from a property.
A police spokesperson commented on the help received and said:
“As a result we were able to follow the bus to Belfast. When it stopped the male was located and found to be in possession of a hammer.
“A further search of the male and some stolen property was located.
“The male was charged with burglary and possession of an offensive weapon.
“He will appear in court today in connection with the offences.”
