Man charged with murder of woman who died in house fire

Detectives investigating the murder of 37 year old Alesia Nazarova, who died following a house fire at the Church Street area in Portadown on Tuesday 21st March, have charged a 25 year old man with murder, attempted murder, arson with intent to endanger life and theft.


Detective Chief Inspector Rachel Wilson said:


"Police received a report of a house fire in the Church Street area of the town in the early hours of Tuesday 21 March.

 


“Emergency services attended. Sadly, Alesia, who was 37 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

“A second female occupant was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged".

 

The 25-year-old man was arrested at that time on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and arson with intent to endanger life. 



He is due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates Court on Saturday 25th March. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
