Police in Ballymena have arrested a man in the early hours of Sunday morning, 17th December, after observing a vehicle acting suspiciously.
The incident occurred in the Drumtara area of Ballee, in the town. The driver was subsequently arrested on a number of offences.
Speaking following the arrest a spokesperson for Police in Mid & East Antrim said:
"District Support Team Officers were on patrol of the Drumtara area of Ballymena in the early hours of Sunday morning when they observed a vehicle acting suspiciously.
"Upon speaking to the driver it was ascertained that he did not have a full driving licence, was unaccompanied and not displaying L plates.
"The driver was arrested for these offences as well as on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs. A forensic examination will now be conducted on samples taken from the driver.
"Local Policing Officers came to assist during the arrest and whilst at the scene arrested a second male for breaching bail conditions.
"Officers across the district are committed to keeping our roads safe and are proactively looking for drivers putting others at risk."
