Three individuals have been formally charged in connection with the recent disorder in Ballymena, County Antrim, which took place on Tuesday, 10 June.

An 18-year-old man and two teenage boys, aged 15 and 17, are facing charges of riot. The 15-year-old has also been charged with criminal damage, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

The trio are due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 12 June.

The PSNI also confirmed that two other teenage boys, who were arrested at the scene of the incident, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The charges follow a period of unrest in Ballymena, where tensions have escalated in recent days amid community concerns and increased police activity.
