Man, 69, dies after Magherafelt road traffic collision

Police have confirmed that a man has died following a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Magherafelt on Thursday evening, 6 November.


Chief Inspector Celeste Simpson from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit said:


“Police received a report shortly after 5.50pm of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in the Grange Road area.



“Our officers attended, supported by colleagues from partner emergency services. However, sadly, the pedestrian - a man aged 69 - was confirmed deceased at the scene.


“The Grange Road was closed for some time but has since reopened.”


Detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.



Chief Inspector Simpson continued:


“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may hold digital footage which could assist with our enquiries.


“This includes dash-cam, mobile, CCTV or other material. Contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1576 of 6/11/25.”

The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
