Police in Ballymena investigating a theft in the William Street area of Ballymena on Wednesday, May 18 have charged a 63 year old man.
He was due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates' Court this morning, Friday 20 May.
Earlier today a spokesperson for Police in Ballymena commented on social media:
“As a result of investigative actions taken by officers in the Local Policing Team in Ballymena to identify the suspect in a robbery, a male has been arrested. The victim of this crime was an 84 year old woman.
“This male has been charged with the offence of robbery and will be appearing in court today.”
As is usual procedure all charges were reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
