Antrim Castle Gardens successfully launched its inaugural "Evening of Inclusive Enchantment" this week, offering a serene and supportive environment for adults and children with additional needs to experience the popular festive event, the Enchanted Winter Garden.
The historic gardens, located in Antrim, Northern Ireland, sparkled on Thursday, 4th December, as they welcomed families for a special night designed to ensure the magic of Christmas was accessible to all.
The initiative saw the festive attraction adapt its usual sensory environment to create a calmer and more relaxed setting.
Families were able to immerse themselves in the Christmas spirit, benefitting from gentle lighting, reduced noise, quieter queues, and a relaxed atmosphere that allowed every visitor to enjoy the experience at their own pace.
Commitment to Inclusivity

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick and her daughter Emilie joined attendees of Enchanted Winter Garden for an Evening of Inclusive Enchantment.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick, highlighted the importance of the event, stating:
“Last night’s event captured what Enchanted Winter Garden is all about, creating magical memories for everyone. As a Council, we are committed to inclusivity, and it is wonderful to see so many families enjoying the experience in a way that feels comfortable to them.”
The Evenings of Inclusive Enchantment are proudly sponsored by The Junction Retail and Leisure Park.
