Food lovers across Northern Ireland are being offered the chance to sample new dishes before they reach customers, as Slim’s Healthy Kitchen launches a search for people to join its new tasting crew.
The local food brand is recruiting enthusiastic tasters to try upcoming meals, share their honest opinions and help influence the development of its next range of products.
No professional experience or special qualifications are needed — just an enjoyment of good food and a willingness to give genuine feedback.
A chance to shape the menu
The initiative follows 12 months of work developing new dishes, with Slim’s Healthy Kitchen now inviting food enthusiasts to become part of the tasting process.
Those selected will get an exclusive insight into how meals are created, sample products ahead of their launch and take part in tasting experiences designed to help the company refine its offering.
Founder and Chief Taster Gary McIldowney said the idea was to involve the people who ultimately matter most — those eating the food.
“We've always believed that healthy, convenient food should still taste amazing, and who better to put that to the test than the people who actually eat it?
“We've been working on some exciting new dishes over the past 12 months and thought, rather than keeping all the tasting to ourselves, why not get a few more people involved?
“We're looking for people who genuinely love their food, aren't afraid to tell us what they think and would enjoy being part of something new. You don't need to be a food critic or have any special qualifications. If you've got good taste and a healthy appetite, we want to hear from you.
“And let's be honest, getting to try new meals before everyone else isn't a bad job to have!”
Supporting communities across Northern Ireland

Alongside developing its range of convenient, healthier meals, Slim’s Healthy Kitchen has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting food banks and charitable organisations throughout Northern Ireland.
The company says providing meals to people and organisations in need is an ongoing part of its work, rather than an occasional charitable initiative.
Gary explained:
“Giving back to our local communities is also something we're incredibly passionate about, it’s not something we post about very much as it’s an everyday part of who we are.
“For us, it's about more than just making great food. It's about making a positive difference wherever we can, and that's something we'll always strive to do.”
