LOVE, LIES & LAURIE - Ballymena woman pens her first book

‘Love, Lies & Laurie’ is described as a fun, light-hearted romantic fiction that is set here in Northern Ireland, mentioning many local spots such as Cushendall and Portballintrae!

Speaking to 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗮, Jill said: “Many people talk about writing a novel 'some day' - some even have the entire plot in their head and know their opening line - unfortunately I wasn't one of them. I had no idea where to start but I had some ideas about the type of characters I wanted to write about and I knew I wanted the novel to be a bit of light-hearted fun with characters readers would fall in love with.

I am both delighted and terrified in equal measure to have it published! The response to date has been largely positive, which is so encouraging, and so many people love the passing mention of the beautiful Northern Ireland landmarks some of the chapters are set in. My hope is that people will enjoy reading it every bit as much as I enjoyed writing it.”

Speaking of the future, Ballymena’s newest author said: “Who knows what the next steps will be - I dream of a big publisher snapping it up - in the meantime my readers appear to want a sequel - so it may well be time to get that underway - watch this space!”

The book’s lead character is the kind hearted, chaotic Laurie Kerr, who is definitely never going to win any prizes as a yummymummy. She's much too busy juggling the daily demands of her five over-active kids, especially when hubby Will is never around to lend a hand. But Laurie's juggling skills are about to be put to the test when a chance encounter with the irrepressible Cynthia Nixon leaves her shaken and most definitely stirred. Laurie begins to question a lot more than just her sanity. What can Cynthia possibly want from Laurie and Will?

Meanwhile best friend Kerry has never been lucky in love but as she finds herself falling in love with gorgeous single-dad Aidan, she wonders if her luck is about to change. But can Aidan really forget the pain of his past or is it once bitten twice shy?
