Hallowena in Ballymena - spooktacular free event planned

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has announced details of this year’s FREE spooky, spine-chilling evening of hair-raising family fun at Hallowena in Ballymena.

After many virtual events over the last year, families will be delighted to move away from

a computer screen and get back to attending and experiencing live events.

Plans will see the People’s Park in the town transformed into a spooktacular area for all kinds of eerie entertainment on a dark evening on Friday 29 October. The event will start at 6pm and end around 8.30pm.

There will be crazy characters, scary stiltwalkers, balloon modellers, a huge walking dragon and a fire juggling display.

There will be lots to entertain your little terrors. Or why not have your own family adventure in the park? The brand new outdoor play areas will be accessible during the event and there will be a kiddies’ fun fair.

There will be live music on stage and a variety of food stalls and sweet treats to tempt your tastebuds.

Fancy Dress is optional but there will be prizes for the best disguises, so wear if you dare and enter the competition! The fun and festivities will finish with a fangtastic fireworks finale at 8.15pm.

Come and see who is in the park on the night! Hallowena is perfect for the whole family to enjoy.

No dogs permitted in the park, no alcohol, no personal fireworks.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Park will be closed to the public on Friday 26 October up until 6pm to allow for event set up.
