Let’s Go Hydro, Belfast
Ireland’s “largest water park”, Let’s Go Hydro, is to propose a major new development at its south Belfast site.
A pre-application notice (PAN) for the popular Carryduff resort is due to be considered by Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council’s planning committee next week.
According to the PAN, the proposal includes the replacement of an existing marquee padel tennis building, the development of a golf driving range and indoor golf simulator facilities, and the relocation of existing glamping pods, safari lodges and a houseboat.
An online public consultation is currently open and is being hosted by planning consultants O’Toole & Starkey.
The consultation document states:
“We would appreciate any feedback you might have in response to the draft proposal. All your comments will be considered before a planning application is submitted to the council.”
The application is being brought forward by Belfast International Watersports Ltd, which is based on Royal Avenue in Belfast.
It adds: “All comments should be submitted by 1 March 2026 to ensure they are given consideration before submission of the formal planning application.”
The Mealough Road site is promoted on its website as “Ireland’s largest water park and adventure destination”, featuring a large inflatable obstacle course. If approved at planning stage, the Let’s Go Hydro investment is expected to deliver economic benefits to the area, including employment opportunities.
A further public consultation event is also expected to take place at a later stage should the proposal progress to a full planning application with finalised designs.
