Man (32) charged with death by dangerous driving following fatal collision in Belfast



Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Ravenhill Road in Belfast on Saturday night (22nd January) have charged a 32-year-old man with causing death by dangerous driving, and causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.


He is due to appear via video link before Belfast Magistrates Court today, Monday 24th January.



As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.


Jon O’Hara was one of two men who sadly died following the collision in Belfast on Saturday night.

Police confirmed the name of the man who sadly died following the collision.

Speaking on Sunday Chief Inspector Wendy Pollock said:


“One of the men who died has been named as Jon O’Hara aged 47 and from Belfast. The second man has not been named.


“The driver and a second passenger in the Skoda Octavia both remain in hospital.”
