Detectives in Antrim have launched an appeal for information following a serious assault on a man in the town during the early hours of Thursday 18 December.
Police say the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was attacked from behind as he walked along Greystone Link sometime between 11pm on Wednesday night and 1am on Thursday morning.
As a result of the assault, the man sustained a broken arm, cuts to his face and head, and extensive bruising to his body.
The injuries are described as serious and have prompted detectives to seek the public’s assistance as enquiries continue.
Investigators believe the attack took place during a quiet period of the night, raising the possibility that potential witnesses or passing motorists may not immediately realise the significance of what they saw.
However, police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have noticed suspicious activity, individuals, or vehicles.
In particular, detectives are appealing for dash-cam or CCTV footage that may have captured movements along Greystone Link during the timeframe of the assault. Even seemingly minor details could prove crucial in establishing what happened and identifying those responsible.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police in Antrim on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 61 18/12/25.
