The Northern Ireland Housing Executive has issued a warning regarding scam phone calls, after a number of tenants were contacted and asked to make a payment.
A Housing Executive spokesperson said:
“Fraudsters are calling our customers pretending to be working on our behalf.
“They are asking tenants to make a payment of £10 towards their rent so we can carry out repairs to their home.
“The number they are calling on is 01135220216. They are not affiliated
with the Housing Executive.
“We will NEVER contact you out of the blue to ask for your personal information or
bank details.”
