VIDEO | Ballymena HEMS Paramedic getting ready to take on Belfast City Marathon

Ballymena man and Air Ambulance NI HEMS paramedic, Mark Agnew, is getting ready to take on the challenge of the Belfast City Marathon to raise funds for the vital charity, and is calling for others to join him in May.

Alongside his busy shifts, Mark is putting in the hours at the gym, progressively building up his running, and building up his mileage ahead of the event.

It takes around £5,500 everyday to keep the vital service of Air Ambulance NI moving - a total amount of over two million pounds every year, and the charity depends heavily on fundraising to keep saving lives across Northern Ireland.

You can join Mark and Team AANI on Sunday 1 May at Stormont Estate to take on the Mash Direct Belfast City Marathon. You can challenge yourself - choose to either run the full 26.2 miles, relay, or 8 mile walk.

However you cross the finish line, your dedication and fundraising will help Air Ambulance save lives, brains and limbs. The vital funds you raise will help deliver urgent pre-hospital care to people who are critically ill or injured across Northern Ireland.

Make your miles count by asking your friends, family, and community to support your efforts. Visit the link below to set up your Just Giving page:
