Help bring ultrafast full Fibre Broadband to Dunloy

Now that we are back in another lockdown, fast and reliable broadband speeds are again front of mind. With families at home and the need to connect technologies simultaneously to the internet even the fastest line speeds can struggle.

Openreach, Northern Ireland’s largest digital infrastructure provider, is currently building ultrafast Full Fibre broadband across the region. With speeds available of up to 1000 Mpbs the ultrafast Full Fibre broadband network can easily cope with multiple devices streaming, gaming and connecting to home schooling apps.

Through its Community Fibre Partnership initiative, Openreach is working together with communities that are not currently included in any private or publicly financed build plans to bring futureproof, ultrafast Full Fibre broadband to homes and businesses in the area.

Openreach build the new ultrafast Full Fibre broadband network but residents still receive their bill from their Communication Provider in the normal way, ensuring residents can choose the speed and price package that is right for them.

Homes and businesses in Dunloy are being encouraged to claim the available Government funding by pledging their Gigabit Vouchers to bring Full Fibre broadband to the area.

747 homes and businesses in the Dunloy area are eligible for Government Gigbabit Vouchers which provides up to £3,500 for each SMEs, and up to £1,500 per residential premises to support the cost of installing new gigabit capable connections.

Breige Conway, Manager of the Northern Area Community Network, is a supporter of the initiative and is urging all residents to come together and join the Community Fibre Partnership.

She said: “The Openreach Community Fibre Partnership is a fantastic opportunity for homes and businesses in Dunloy to access faster and more reliable broadband connections to work, study or stay in touch with friends and family. I would encourage everyone from the community, who is eligible, to pledge their Government Rural Gigabit Connectivity voucher at no additional cost to them so that Openreach can build its ultrafast Full Fibre broadband network in the area.”
