Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has confirmed that it’s recently hired interim Chief Executive Mark Parkinson has left the job.
Mark Parkinson, whose appointment was agreed by councillors on 14 February, was brought in by the local authority at a cost of £1,272 a day.
Mr Parkinson, was brought in with a ‘wealth of local government experience’, and in the hope of leading the organisation through what has been an immensely challenging time. A spokesman for Mid and East Antrim Borough Council said:
“Mid and East Antrim Borough Council confirms that the interim Chief Executive, Mark Parkinson, terminated his contract due to health issues.
“Council extends its best wishes to him and is grateful for his concerted efforts since taking up the post.
“Our Senior Management Team will continue to oversee Council business and the Director of Development will be the lead person for operational matters for the next two weeks.”
