Twelfth of July celebration parade

Nineteen towns and villages across Northern Ireland — and one in County Donegal — will host the 2026 Twelfth of July demonstrations, the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland (GOLI) has confirmed.

The annual celebrations, which date back more than 230 years, remain a central fixture in the cultural calendar, drawing participants and spectators from across the United Kingdom and further afield.

Announcing the venues, the Grand Master, Most Wor. Bro. Harold Henning, reflected on the enduring significance of the Twelfth.

“Our Twelfth of July celebrations are an annual highlight for our members and the wider Orange family.

“The tradition of Twelfth processions stretches back 230 years and are very much a focal point for local communities to come together and commemorate the important historical events which shaped our society.

“The colour, pageantry and music provide a unique spectacle, and we are increasingly witnessing a growing number of international visitors attending our events, as well as the great many who regularly travel from other parts of the United Kingdom.

“I trust that wherever you plan to take part or spectate, everyone has an enjoyable day.”

Each year, the Twelfth sees lodges parade through designated host towns, with communities preparing months in advance for what is one of the largest annual public events in Northern Ireland.

Ballymena will, as in every year, host its Twelfth demonstration, alongside a number of other locations across County Antrim and beyond.
