Golden Eagle back home after soaring adventure

David and Golden Eagle Loki

Reunited: David and Golden Eagle Loki

After missing for just over a week, Loki the Golden Eagle is back home tonight at Hawk Walks Falconry Experiences NI on the East Antrim coast.

The heartbroken owners David and Jo took to social media earlier this month to appeal for the public’s help to find the missing raptor, and this evening (Friday 20th December) tears have been turned to jubilation with the owners saying “Our Christmas 2024 into a great one that we forever be grateful for!”

Described as David and Jo’s “pride and joy”, Loki is known for his majestic 6-foot wingspan.

Commenting on his return, David thanked everyone for their help and support. He expressed his gratitude saying:

“Guess who's finished his little adventure!!

“We couldn't be happier to let everyone know we have our beautiful boy home again!!!! It's been an emotional rollercoaster ride from the second we lost him to the unbelievable amount of joy to have our big man home safe!

“He is great health and form thankfully and he is now resting in his mews with a big dinner.

“Jo and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every single person for their support, all the calls, messages and offers of help has been incredible. We truly were lifted by the heartfelt warmth from the public, past clients and more. The human nature is a wonderful thing and we have seen the most beautiful over the last week or so.

“This has now made our Christmas 2024 into a great one that we forever be grateful for!”
