Girls Aloud return to celebrate their 21st Anniversary huge Arena Tour for 2024

Girls Aloud

This year marks 21 years since Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine, Nicola and Sarah were voted the winners of Popstars: The Rivals and formed the all-conquering legendary pop band Girls Aloud.

To celebrate this milestone with all of their fans, Girls Aloud announced that they will be coming together for a huge arena tour of the UK and Ireland in May and June of 2024.

The hugely anticipated shows will feature all of the band's historic pop hits including No.1 songs 'Sound Of The Underground', 'The Promise' and 'I'll Stand By You', alongside cast-iron classics such as 'Love Machine', ‘Call The Shots’, Biology', 'Something New' and 'The Show'.

Girls Aloud will not be releasing any new music around the tour. The band haven't recorded any new songs or filmed any music videos. The tour will be a celebration of Girls Aloud's rich back catalogue and all the ground-breaking success they have achieved as a band.

The most successful girl group of the noughties, Girls Aloud have sold in excess of 5 million albums in the UK. The band hold the Guinness World Record for their 20 consecutive UK Top 10 singles. ‘Sound Of The Underground' was the 2002 Christmas Number One, spending four weeks at the top of the charts and selling over a half a million copies in the process.

Girls Aloud were nominated for five Brits Awards and won Best Single for The Promise. They were invited to record the official single for Children In Need twice. The band toured extensively, with their “Out of Control” tour witnessing over 30 arena dates. This summer, Kimberley and Nicola joined Years & Years at their Mighty Hoopla festival headline set in London to perform ‘Call The Shots’ and ‘The Promise’ with Olly Alexander.

Between band projects, Cheryl scored five No.1 UK solo singles, served as a judge for several seasons on X Factor and recently starred in the acclaimed West End musical 2:22 A Ghost Story. Kimberley Walsh is currently a regular presenter on Morning Live and was a finalist on Strictly Come Dancing as well the lead in several West End productions including Shrek, Elf and Big. Nadine Coyle continues to successfully release music and tour, headlining festivals across the UK. Throughout various initiatives Girls Aloud have raised over £1million for breast cancer charities in the last year. In October 2022 Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine and Nicola held The Primrose Ball, a charity gala event for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK, as part of The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal. Hosted by the band and presented by Fearne Cotton, the evening saw performances by Olly Alexander, Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs) and Will Young, with a live auction including an original canvas depicting Sarah Harding by The Connor Brothers.

More recently, a limited edition 7” vinyl release of the band’s debut single ‘Sound Of The Underground’ was released, also to raise funds for The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal.
