Five men arrested after altercation and assault in Broughshane

Detectives in Ballymena are appealing for information following two separate incidents in Broughshane on Saturday 26 September.
The first appeal followed a report of an #altercation in Whinsmoor Park, #Broughshane at approximately 7.45pm last night.
A 24 year old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including possession of an offensive weapon with Intent to commit indictable offence. He remains in custody at this time.

The second appeal is in reference to a reported #assault on a man also in Whinsmoor Park, #Broughshane.
Last night, Saturday, 26 September, police received a report at 11.40pm, that sometime between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, as the man was walking along Whinsmoor Park, a car drew up and a number of males got out. They then assaulted him with what he believes to be a metal bar.
Police have arrested four men aged 31, 40, 56 and 58 on suspicion of a number of offences. They all remain in police custody at this time.
