One of Ballymena’s favourite female-only gyms, Flamingo Fitness, has announced a fabulous five week programme over the summer for teenage girls for an amazing one-off £3 fee.
More than ever, teenage girls are under pressure, and many are facing a pandemic-like struggle with ill mental health.
Flamingo staff member Laura is passionate and determined to try and help as many teen girls as possible to feel more confident in themselves, to improve their mental health and to see that they are not alone.
A spokesperson for Flamingo Fitness, based on Ballymoney Street in the town, commented:
“Often young girls are too scared to enter a gym due to fear of judgement, not knowing what to do and not wanting to go on their own.
“We are offering a five week programme starting on Monday 18 July, to help put an end to this. Our programme includes:
• Two exercise sessions per week (Monday at 11.30am & Wednesday at 11.30am). You will be guided through everything, using different types of exercise, different equipment and different weights. It is for ALL levels of fitness.
• A place where you are free to be yourself, to be surrounded by people in a similar situation, to meet new people and to become comfortable in a gym setting.
• And most importantly, to improve your confidence, to give you something to do with your summer holidays and to take part in something that is fun and will make you feel so much better.
“The only fee you will have to pay is £3 - for the WHOLE five weeks. That’s it. Just something to keep you accountable!
“If you’re interested or know someone who is, but don’t want to come your own, I promise you there is nothing to worry about. Each individual will be personally welcomed with open arms, and by the end of the first session you will have made friends. And Laura will be your first friend anyway!”
