Firefighters continue to tackle a ‘substantial’ blaze at a recycling depot in Belfast

Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service have said over 40 Firefighters are continuing to deal with what was a substantial fire at a waste recycling depot at Duncrue Pass, Belfast.
Firefighters were called to the fire at 10.12pm on Sunday 27 June 2021.
A spokesperson for NIFRS stated:
“There are currently 5 Fire Appliances, 1 Aerial Appliance, a High Volume Pump, and a Command Support Unit in attendance.
“The fire has been brought under control but Firefighters are likely to be in attendance for the rest of the day. The public are asked to continue to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed.
“The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.”
