Ferrero extends recall over salmonella fears to include other products in Kinder range

Ferrero have today extended their precautionary action of recalling additional Kinder products because they might be contaminated with Salmonella.

Earlier this week the Food Standards Agency (FSA), advised consumers not to eat a limited range of Kinder products with best before dates between 11 July 2022 and 7 October 2022.

This recall was announced after a salmonella outbreak, with a number of the cases having been young children.

Investigations, led by UKHSA, Public Health Scotland, Public Health Wales and Public Health Agency Northern Ireland, found a link between reported cases of salmonella poisoning across the UK and a specific product produced by the Ferrero company.

The following products have now been recalled:

KINDER SURPRISE EGGS (20g and 20g three pack)

All dates up to and including 7 October 2022.

KINDER SURPRISE (100g)

All dates from 20 April 2022 up to and including 21 August 2022.

KINDER MINI EGGS (75g) All dates from 20 April 2022 up to and including 21 August 2022.

KINDER EGG HUNT KIT (150g)

KINDER SCHOKOBONS (200g)

All dates from 20 April 2022 up to and including 21 August 2022.

Symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
