Music, drama and laughter will take centre stage in Ballymena later this month as Farmers’ Choir Northern Ireland prepares to host a special Arts Festival Showcase celebrating the creativity and talent of young people from rural communities.
The event will take place on Thursday 19 March at 8:00pm at Ballymena Academy and will feature performances by members of Finvoy, Garvagh and Randalstown Young Farmers Clubs.
Organisers promise a lively evening packed with entertainment, from musical performances to dramatic sketches and light-hearted comedy.
The showcase highlights a long-standing tradition of arts participation within Northern Ireland’s Young Farmers’ Clubs, offering young performers a platform to share their talents with local audiences while strengthening connections within farming communities.

Musical Director of the Farmers’ Choir Northern Ireland, Barkley Thompson, said the night will give performers a chance to share the energy and enjoyment of live performance with the audience.
“There’s nothing quite like the excitement of performing on stage. Nights like the Arts Festival Showcase let the performers share that excitement with the audience, bringing people together through music, drama and laughter.”
As well as showcasing talent from across the local Young Farmers’ network, the evening is designed to bring members of farming and rural communities together in a spirit of celebration and friendship.
Organisers say the event reflects the wider contribution rural organisations make to community life, using music, theatre and humour to create shared experiences that connect people across generations.

Tickets for the event are priced at £15 and are available from Farmers’ Choir Northern Ireland committee members or through the participating clubs.
