Family launch fundraiser for RVH ICU team who battled to save daughter’s life after hit and run
Updated: Nov 2, 2020
A Ballymena family is raising much needed funds and collecting items for the medical staff at the ICU of the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast.
The family wanted to say ‘thank you’ for the teams amazing treatment and support given to their daughter over the last year after she sustained life-threatening injuries in a hit and run accident.
Lynda Ferguson shared: “On the 8 November 2019 my daughter Rebecca was involved in a hit and run car accident where she received the most horrendous injuries.
“In a split second it changed our lives forever. One year on and she is still recovering and receiving treatment for her injuries. She battled for 9 weeks in the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast and eventually was able to be discharged to begin her recovery to "normal life" again at home.
“She is a miracle as we were told on a few occasions that she might not make it!”
The family want to give something back to the brilliant team in the ICU of the Royal Victoria Hospital, wards, and the many departments that helped save their daughter’s life.
Lynda said: “They are fighting a different battle today and need all the support and encouragement we can give.
“If you can donate towards our fundraising we would be so grateful with as little or as much as you can afford.”
Lynda is also collecting a number of items for donation to the Royal’s dedicated medical staff. Here is the list:
• Paper cups for tea/coffee • Shampoo, conditioner + shower gel • Tea, coffee, biscuits, sugar, sweets + treats
If you can help by donating any of these items, please private message Lynda via her Facebook page below:
