Family favourite Cameron’s Department Store to remain open

It has been the place of dreams and desire for generations of children over the years who would longingly look at the row upon row of shelves full of toys. And while this year has been one like no other, Cameron’s confirmed on Thursday afternoon that it will be able to partly remain open over the two week ‘circuit-breaker’, due to begin tomorrow (Friday 27 November).

In a social media post, the Ballymena store commented:

“Once again, we want to express our thanks to all our customers, staff and suppliers over recent months. We know these have been very challenging times for us all.

We have been in talks with local government officials, and we are permitted to remain open to support and serve our local community, with some additional restrictions and changes in place.

“Our Fashion and footwear departments will close during the restricted period, commencing Friday 27 November.

“We ask that all customers who visit our Department and Home stores in the coming days adhere to ALL public health recommendations, including the wearing of face coverings, use of hand sanitiser/hand washing facilities, and maintaining a distance of 2 metres from other customers and staff at all times.

“By following the recommendations, we can restrict the spread of coronavirus, and protect our families and community.

“For those customers who have items in our Toy Club, please be assured that they will still be available before Christmas. If you plan to collect your club, we ask that you give 24 hours notice so we can arrange a slot for collection.

“We will be operating a call and collect service. If you would like to purchase anything from us, please call us on 02825648821. We can process your payment over the phone and arrange a collection slot for you.

“We appreciate your support and cooperation at this time.”
