Emergency Services rushed to the scene of a road traffic collision on Monday afternoon, 13 December, after a lorry left the road smashing through a crash barrier on the Dunsilly roundabout in Antrim.
Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) attended the incident alongside colleagues from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS).
NIFRS crews from Ballymena, Antrim and the Specialist Rescue Team worked to safely recover the driver who was passed into the care of the Ambulance Service.
Alan Barr, Station Commander for Ballymena commented:
“The crews used manual handling techniques and a ladder to remove the casualty to safety.
"A good team effort by everyone involved.”
The road has now fully reopened.
