Audry the spaniel from Dogs Trust Ballymena is seeking her loving forever home
A 12-year-old Spaniel crossbreed is searching for a loving forever home this Valentine’s Day at Dogs Trust Ballymena, after being returned to the charity’s care due to a change in circumstances.
Audry, described as a “sensational Spaniel” by staff, first came into the care of Dogs Trust Ballymena as a young pup in 2014 and was quickly adopted. After spending 11 years in a loving home, she was returned to the rehoming centre in November last year.
Now, as her first Valentine’s Day back in kennels approaches, the team is hoping she will finally meet “the one”.
A second chance at love for senior spaniel
Despite having many “not so secret” admirers among staff, Audry has yet to find her new forever family.
Conor O’Kane, Manager at Dogs Trust Ballymena, said:
“Audry makes our hearts skip a beat, and we know someone out there will feel the same the moment they meet her. It’s been a bit of a shock to the system for Audry being in kennels after so long in a home, but she has settled well and is loved to the moon and back by everyone here.
“This is Audry’s first Valentine’s Day looking for love, and we are sure her sweet, happy nature will sweep someone off their feet very soon.
“Audry loves her daily walks and outdoor adventures. She can be a little shy when meeting new people but soon shows her affectionate side once she knows you.
“Another of her great loves is food, so food is certainly the way to her heart. She is happy having walking buddies, although she would prefer to be the only dog in her forever home so she can lap up all the attention. We can’t wait for her to meet her soulmate and find her happy ever after home.”
Ideal home for Audry
Dogs Trust Ballymena is seeking an adults-only home for Audry, where she can be the only pet. A property with a secure garden is preferred, giving her space to potter and enjoy her favourite enrichment activities, including snuffle mats.
Having spent the majority of her life in a family home, the transition back into kennels has been a significant change. Staff say she has settled well, but they are hopeful that her stay will be short-lived once the right match comes forward.
How to adopt Audry
Anyone who believes they could offer Audry the loving home she is looking for is encouraged to contact the team at Dogs Trust Ballymena.
