Brave Connor ready to walk a mile in aid of the Mark Lynn CHD Foundation

Connor McDonagh

Connor McDonagh, a severely disabled young Ballymena man who suffers from both Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy, has set himself a herculean challenge to walk one mile to raise funds for the Mark Lynn CHD Foundation, later this month.

For most people, walking one mile is no problem, however for brave Connor who is a wheelchair user and needs assistance at all times when walking, it will feel like a marathon distance.

Mark Lynn CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) Foundation was set up in memory of a well known and much loved youngster, Mark Lynn from Ballymena, who suffered from congenital heart disease and pulmonary stenosis from birth, and who sadly passed away on the 28 September 2018, aged just 8 years old.

Mark Lynn

Young Mark had his first open heart surgery at 3 weeks old. He underwent three more open heart surgeries and numerous other surgeries during his short life.

Mark Lynn CHD Foundation exists to help other children and young adults who suffer with lifelong chronic illnesses.

Connor and his family are hoping to raise as money as possible to support the incredible work now being done in memory of Mark, when he completes his 1 mile walk in Ballymena town centre on Saturday 28 August.
