Police pursuit ends with stolen BMW recovered after ‘being stung’ in Co Antrim



The Police Service of Northern Ireland have made two arrests following a pursuit and successful tactical stop of a stolen BMW car on the Antrim Coast Road, near Carnfunnock, outside Larne.

Police from Larne were assisted by officers from Steeple RPU in the chase which took place on Saturday morning (6 November).



A police spokesperson commented


“Assisting our colleagues from Larne this morning, including both Duty Sergeant and Inspector, who were also actively involved.

“Vehicle stolen with keys, and after being ‘stung’ it was stopped tactically and two arrests made.


“The driver faces charges of Burglary, Theft, Disqualified Driving, Driving Whilst Unfit, No Insurance, Dangerous Driving, Failing to Stop for Police, and has been further arrested in custody for other offences.


“He has also had his licence revoked from prison and was tagged. A prolific offender stopped and taken off the streets along with a female passenger who also faces charges.”
