Detectives investigate after man found with serious injuries

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland are appealing for information after a man was discovered with serious head injuries at a residential property on Garvagh Road, Dungiven, during the early hours of Monday 26 May.
The man, who is in his 40s, was reportedly dropped off at the property by a friend at approximately 1.30am. He was later found with critical injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Launching an appeal, Detective Inspector Hanbidge said:
“We are seeking assistance from members of the public to help us determine the movements of a man in the hours between 1.30am and 3am, on the morning of Monday 26th May.
“The man, who is aged in his 40’s and who was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, was dropped off by a friend at Garvagh Road at 1.30am on Monday morning.”
DI Hanbidge added that the circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries remain unclear:
“The man remains in a critical condition in hospital and at this time it is unclear exactly where or how he sustained his injuries.”
Police are urging anyone who may have seen a man matching the description in the Garvagh Road area during the relevant timeframe to come forward.
The detective also appealed for dash-cam, CCTV, or doorbell camera footage that may assist in the investigation.
