The Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, DUP Councillor for Braid, Tyler Hoey, has strongly condemned a late-night attack on a property in Ahoghill, Ballymena, in the early hours of Sunday, 28 September.


Councillor Hoey described the incident as “disgraceful” and urged those responsible to stop before anyone is seriously injured.



He said:


“I condem last nights disgraceful attack on a property in Ahoghill. People should feel safe in their homes, free from intimidation from others.


“I would call on this escalation of incidents to stop and to stop now before someone is seriously hurt.”

Police confirmed they are investigating a report of criminal damage to a house in the Laurel Park area of Ahoghill.


Sergeant Allen of the PSNI said:


“Shortly after 12:50am today, Sunday 28th September, it was reported that two men approached the property – one of whom was carrying a weapon – and smashed a number of windows.



“Anyone who might have any information which might assist is asked to contact 101, and quote reference number 64 of 28/09/25.”


No injuries were reported, but police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
