Deputy Mayor congratulates Queen's Birthday Honours recipients


Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Matthew Armstrong.

Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Matthew Armstrong, has congratulated all those from within the local community who were recognised in Her Majesty, The Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Among the recipients were Ballymena United Manager, David Jeffrey, and Larne-born Northern Ireland footballer, Julie Nelson, who received the MBE and BEM respectively.

Cumran Primary School Principal, Rhonda Moles, received the CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, while John Stuart received an OBE for services to the community in Ballymena.

Deputy Mayor Armstrong said:


“I am delighted that so many people from within the Borough of Mid and East Antrim have been recognised so prestigiously.

“The commitment and dedication of men and women throughout our society, whether through education, sport or community work, has benefited young and old, in many ways.

“To receive such a distinguished honour is truly fantastic, and I congratulate all those who were rightly recognised for their work.”
