Cracking Christmas feels as Radio Cracker launches annual fundraising effort in Ballymena
Radio Cracker Ballymena has launched its annual fundraiser effort with online music shows everyday up until Christmas Eve.
The charity station has been broadcasting across Ballymena and surrounding areas since 1991, raising over £1.5million for those in need in the developing world.
Like most other things this year, the charity has had to change how it operates in 2020.
Due to practicalities of operating with current social distancing guidelines, Radio Cracker is unable to broadcast live on the usual FM station. The team though have been working hard to cone up with an online broadcasting solution to provide you with some light-hearted entertainment in the four weeks leading up to Christmas.
The Cracker team will be publishing pre-recorded music shows on the website, giving you the normal locally-led festive feels on the countdown to the big day.
A spokesperson for Radio Cracker said: “We are unable to fundraise in the normal way in 2020, but we are still accepting donations which will be distributed to the charities we support regularly, with preference given to those who are dealing with Covid-19 repercussions.
“If you are able to donate, you can do so securely via PayPal (only a credit/debit card is required). And if you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to Gift Aid your donation.”
