Covid Mobile Testing Unit opens in Broughshane
The Public Health Agency (PHA) has opened a new Covid-19 Mobile Testing Unit in Broughshane Village.
Commenting on the testing site, a spokesperson for the PHA told Love Ballymena:
“The location of COVID-19 testing sites is kept under constant review. In addition to the fixed testing sites, Mobile Test Units (MTU) operate across Northern Ireland and their current locations and how to book a test can be found at:
“Mobile testing is an agile capability that allows temporary testing sites to be set up quickly to serve communities on a rolling basis.
“MTU placements take account of multiple factors including circulating levels of COVID-19 in a locality, response to clusters or outbreaks, the need to support special circumstances such as care homes and universities, and the overall need for testing.
“We would encourage everyone to only book a test if you have the symptoms of COVID-19, which are a new continuous cough, or a high temperature, or a change in sense of smell or taste.

Over the last 7 days, the BT43 postcode area, which covers Broughshane, has been sitting in 7th highest place in Northern Ireland for positive Covid tests per 100k of the population (133.0).

The mobile testing units are open from 9.00am to 3.00pm and can be booked through the normal online booking channels (mentioned above). You will see the locations across Northern Ireland as you book a test or alternatively ask staff if you call 119.
A walk through test site is also set up in Ballymena at the Showgrounds (Slemish Drive, Ballymena, BT43 7DS). This site is open from 8.00am to 8.00pm.
