The Community Rescue Service (CRS) Central District has opened its latest recruitment drive, calling on members of the public to join its Operational and Support Teams.
The organisation, which plays a critical role in search and rescue missions across Northern Ireland, is seeking new volunteers to bolster its capacity and continue safeguarding local communities.
With active units in Ballymena, Portglenone and Mid-Ulster, CRS is encouraging individuals from all backgrounds to consider getting involved, emphasising that no matter where residents live within the Central District, there is likely to be a unit nearby.

As part of the recruitment campaign, CRS will be hosting a Recruitment Information Session, aimed at providing potential volunteers with a clear insight into the roles available, the training provided, and the commitment required.
Those interested in attending must register by 2 May 2025 by emailing info@communityrescue.org
Applicants are asked to include their full name, email address, mobile number, and a general indication of where they live. Once submitted, a member of the CRS team will be in touch to extend an invitation to the session.
For those unable to attend the upcoming event, the organisation has reassured the public that further recruitment opportunities will arise, with another session planned for mid-summer. Anyone who submits their details but cannot attend this time will have their information retained and be contacted ahead of the next intake.

In a message to previous applicants, CRS noted that if you have already been in contact, there is no need to reach out again, as someone will be in touch shortly.
The Community Rescue Service plays a vital role in locating high-risk missing persons and providing support to those in crisis, often operating in challenging and high-pressure environments. The recruitment initiative highlights the continued need for dedicated volunteers willing to contribute time and effort to life-saving work.
