Colleen’s calendars raise vital funds for cancer charity

Portglenone woman, Colleen Webb, was delighted to hand over a cheque recently for £1,440 to the Friends of the Cancer Centre charity.

The passionate photographer, whose photos are often featured on Love Ballymena’s social media platforms, produced a ‘2022 Friends of the Cancer Centre’ calendar using beautiful images that she had captured around rural Portglenone.

The worthy local charity focuses on three key areas for those diagnosed with the disease – patient care, patient comfort, and research – and our work supports the services provided by the Health Service.

Colleen and her family first encountered the amazing work undertaken by Friends of the Cancer Centre when her brother, Anthony, received firsthand the “amazing support from the charity himself when he was very ill”.

Commenting after handing over the cheque, kindhearted Colleen said:

“A massive thank you to all who bought my 2022 Friends of the Cancer Centre calendar.

“Pictured (above) is Clinical Nurse Specialist Renee Reid from The Friends Of Cancer Centre, who with so many other fantastic nurses and doctors, support hundreds of teenagers and young people with Cancer.

“A huge thank you again to all the local businesses who kindly sold the calendars within their premises.

“Once again, thank you to all who purchased the calendar, your kindness will help Friends of the Cancer Centre to keep doing such an amazing job.”
