A long-established pedigree sheep flock from County Antrim has celebrated a major run of success after securing multiple top honours at the annual Kerryhill Society prize giving.
Crookmuir Pedigree Kerryhills, owned by Sean and Fiona McAllister from Ballycastle, achieved a series of impressive results at the annual Kerryhill Prize Giving Dinner, including the prestigious title of Overall Champion Irish Flock.
The couple also secured first place in three competitive categories, marking another milestone for a flock that has been steadily building a reputation for quality breeding over decades.
Decades of dedication to pedigree breeding
The Crookmuir Kerryhill flock was first established in 1989, and since then the McAllisters have developed it into a consistent prize winner.
Their sheep have regularly featured among the top performers at agricultural shows and in the Kerryhill Sheep Society’s flock competitions, reflecting the care and attention invested in breeding and stock management.
The latest awards continue that tradition, with the flock achieving:
1st place – Kerryhill Ram Lamb
1st place – Ewe Lambs
1st place – Flock (11–30 ewes category)
Recognition across the UK and Ireland
In addition to claiming the Overall Champion Irish Flock title, the McAllisters’ Ram Lamb also received wider recognition beyond Ireland.
The animal was awarded third place among all Kerryhill Ram Lambs judged across the UK and Ireland, highlighting the quality of the Crookmuir breeding programme on a broader stage.
The results underline the strength of the Ballymena-based flock and its continued success within the pedigree Kerryhill community.
