Child seriously injured in Co Antrim collision as police appeal for dashcam footage

A 12-year-old child has been left with serious injuries after being knocked down by a car in Lisburn on Monday afternoon, prompting a police appeal for dashcam footage from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.


The collision happened on Prince William Road at around 3.15pm on April 20 and involved a black Honda Civic.



Child taken to hospital with serious injuries


Emergency services attended the scene following the incident, where the child sustained injuries described as serious. However, police have confirmed the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.


No further details about the child’s condition or treatment have been released.


Road closure following incident


Prince William Road was closed for a period after the collision as emergency responders dealt with the situation and initial enquiries were carried out at the scene.



The road has since reopened to motorists.


Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage


Police in Lisburn are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have captured relevant dashcam footage in the area at the time, to come forward.


Officers have asked that anyone with information contact them on 101, quoting reference 919 20/04/26.


The appeal includes motorists who were travelling on Prince William Road or nearby routes around the time of the incident and may have recorded footage that could assist with ongoing enquiries.
