St George’s Market will once again burst into life this month with the return of the hugely popular Twilight Market, promising two unforgettable evenings of flavour, creativity, and entertainment.

Taking place on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 May from 4pm to 10pm, the ‘Spring into Summer’ edition will showcase Northern Ireland’s rich tapestry of local food and drink producers, alongside artists, musicians, and craftspeople, in one of Belfast’s most iconic venues.

Now in its tenth year, the Twilight Market has become a highlight in the city’s cultural calendar, drawing thousands of visitors from across the region and beyond. Organised by Belfast City Council, the event aims to spotlight the very best of Northern Irish talent and enterprise, both from established traders and newcomers.

Over 100 traders are set to take part, offering an impressive selection of handmade and award-winning goods. From artisan cheeses and chutneys to locally distilled spirits, cordials, fudge and chocolates, the market promises a sensory experience that reflects the region’s culinary heritage.

In addition to food and drink, guests can browse handmade jewellery, artworks, antiques, and unique products for pets, including treats and accessories crafted by local businesses.

A dedicated bar area will serve up craft beers, gins, and whiskeys from across Northern Ireland.

Live music will set the tone across both evenings, with performances from Davy Watson, Jackie Rainey, and the ever-popular Red Hot Roosters, adding to the market’s vibrant atmosphere.

This year’s event also includes a special feature for motorsport fans. Lionheart Racing, Northern Ireland’s newest MotoGP team, will be in attendance with their race bike on display. Visitors can meet the team, take photos with the bike, and support NIPANC, the local Pancreatic Cancer charity, through on-site fundraising activities.

Speaking ahead of the event, Councillor Sam Nelson, Chair of Belfast City Council’s City Growth and Regeneration Committee, said:

“The Twilight Market is now in its tenth year and continues to attract thousands of visitors from near and far each time it is held. People love the buzz that the event always manages to generate in what is a truly unique setting.

“These events are also a brilliant way of showcasing the amazing produce and creations of St George’s Market’s traders to people who may have never been to the weekly market or haven’t been in years, so I would encourage everyone to come along for a fantastic night out where you’ll be entertained while also having the chance to sample some great local food and drink.”

With easy access by public transport, including nearby stops at Lanyon Station, Victoria Street, and May Street, the Council encourages attendees to consider sustainable travel options. More details can be found via Translink.
