Carrickfergus business welcomes Mayor visit

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council Councillor Peter Johnston paid a visit to Yelo Ltd to gain a better understanding of how the business has been operating and how Council can continue to support their growth and development.

Located in Trooperslane Industrial Estate, Carrickfergus, Yelo Ltd is a test equipment manufacturer, providing bespoke testing solutions since 1983 to clients all over the world. The company is a market leader in laser burn and reliability systems, having developed custom test equipment for the defence industry and a range of test and qualification solutions for the automotive industry. Yelo Ltd currently employ 49 people and contribute a turnover of £5m to the Mid and East Antrim economy. They also have an office in Shanghai, China.

Commenting on his visit, Mayor Councillor, Peter Johnston said:


“It was a pleasure to visit Yelo Ltd to understand better how they have been operating during the Covid-19 pandemic. I received a site tour of the facilities and very much welcomed the opportunity to discuss with company Directors their growth plans for 2021 and beyond.

“Discussions also included how the Council led Manufacturing Task Force can continue to benefit industry in relation to Skills, Supply Chain and Productivity initiatives, with Yelo Ltd already playing an active role in the steering group.”

Yelo Ltd welcomed the ongoing support from Council and thanked the Mayor of Mid and East Antrim for continuing to prioritise engagement with local industry.
