Ipswich Town Football Club has announced this evening, Friday July 1, that Ballymena lad Cameron Stewart, has signed a new two-year contract, having signed his first professional contract with the club last summer.
The talented 19-year-old from Broughshane started his footballing journey with local club Carniny Youth at the age of 6, and eventually went onto represent Northern Ireland at youth level.
Cameron joined Coleraine at Under 10’s, then was snapped up by Linfield Youth Academy at the age of 10 years old, playing mainly as a CDM in his 6 years at the blues.
The young star was captain for the County Antrim junior squad in the Super Cup in 2018 when they defeated Manchester United in the final at the Ballymena Showgrounds.
Cameron had trials at Watford, Fulham, Stoke and Ipswich. In March 2019 at the age of 16 he signed a 3 year deal for Ipswich Town FC, saying goodbye to Ballymena and making the move across the water to pursue his passion in July 2019.
