Road closed overnight after serious road traffic collision County Tyrone


Emergency services were tasked to the scene of a serious road traffic collision in the early hours of this morning, Monday 27 December, in Garvaghy.

Police closed the main A5, that runs between Omagh and Ballygawley, in the early hours of this morning after the collision occurred at the crossroads at Kelly's Inn, northwest of Ballygawley, and advised that the road would ‘remain closed for some time’.


As daylight broke on Monday morning, a police spokesperson confirmed the road remains closed saying:


“Motorists are advised the A5 Omagh Road, Garvaghy remains closed between the Curr Road and Greenmount Road due to a serious road traffic collision earlier this morning.


“Please seek an alternative route for your journey.”


There are currently no details of the condition of those involved in the collision.
