‘Bigger and better’ - the vision of the Corner Bakery at the heart of town and community

Ballymena bakery and cafe owner, Peter Nixon, is cementing the Corner Bakery‘s position as one of the town’s top eateries, with expansion plans just announced this week. Peter opened his business on the corner of Greenvale Street and Ballymoney Street, back in November 2014, serving fresh bread and pastries daily, along with fresh sandwiches, wraps, toasties, paninis and salads, and not forgetting the Corner Bakery’s award-winning sausage rolls.

For almost eight years, Peter has enjoyed developing his business, watching it grow from strength to strength, while building relationships with the many customers he sees as friends. Never content to settle for average, Peter loves to use his creativity to bring better to the people of Ballymena.

Work is set to commence on the bakery’s expansion this week on Wednesday 23 May, and the business plans to remain open throughout.

The new expanded premises will allow Peter and his team to welcome more people with an additional 24 seats, as well as the option for more outside seating when the weather permits.

Speaking to Love Ballymena about his exciting expansion plans, Peter said:

This is something I have planned and thought about for quite a while, and now feels like the perfect time to put everything into practice!

“The staff and I love what we do - we love all of our regulars, and this will enable us to welcome more people through our doors.”

Peter added:

“There will be new additions to our menu which we have trialled recently, as well as the firm favourites, increased opening hours and also new jobs once we get up and running.”

Concluding, Peter commented:

“We have been here nearly eight years and we want to be for a long time to come! The work never stops but we wouldn’t want it any other way.”

The Corner Bakery is open Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, and Friday & Saturday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Pop in and see what all the fuss is about!
